What does plastering cost per m²? Prices for walls and ceilings

At Badr Company you pay € 15 per m² excl. VAT for a paint-ready wall. In a home older than 2 years that is € 16.35 including 9% VAT. A ceiling costs € 18 per m² excl. VAT.

Materials are listed separately and clearly in the quote. After a free site visit you get a fixed price, and there is no extra work without your approval. Travel is included anywhere in the Netherlands.

Our prices per m² (labour)

9% VAT applies to plastering in homes older than 2 years, otherwise 21%. Minimum charge per job: € 250 excl. VAT.

How do our prices compare with the market?

Nationally, prices for interior plastering look like this. Our rates are at the lower end, because we work without middlemen and travel costs are already included.

What does it cost to plaster walls?

The cost per m² mainly depends on the finish. If you want to paint the wall afterwards, you choose paint-ready plastering. It has to be the smoothest, so it takes the most time. If you are going to hang wallpaper, wallpaper-ready is enough and you pay less.

Torn between plastering and fibreglass wallpaper? Plastering costs more, but lasts for years and gives a cleaner result. We work to a flatness of at most 2 mm per 2 metres and finish corners with corner beads.

Plastering a ceiling: what does it cost?

A ceiling costs € 18 per m² excl. VAT with us. The plasterer works overhead, on scaffolding, and the room has to be covered well. If you have walls and ceiling plastered at the same time, you save on preparation and covering.

What determines the price of plastering?

• Area. The more m², the more efficient. Small jobs fall under the € 250 minimum.
• Surface. Removing cracks, loose lime or old textured plaster first takes extra time.
• Finish. Wallpaper-ready, textured or paint-ready.
• Access. Stairwells, high ceilings and many corners or window frames.
• Empty or lived-in. In an empty room we work faster and less needs covering.

Per hour or per m²?

We charge plastering per m², so you know exactly what it costs in advance. Only small extra jobs are charged by the hour: € 50 excl. VAT.

9% or 21% VAT on plastering

Worked example: a living room

You have 40 m² of wall plastered paint-ready and 20 m² of ceiling, in a home from 1995. The labour then looks like this:
